Operation Starfish is the Social Conscience Arm of TUGi. Evidenced in name, it's based on the doctrine of this well known story:
The Starfish Story

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, What are you doing?
The youth replied, Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I dont throw them back, theyll die.
Son, the man said, dont you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You cant make a difference!
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said
I made a difference for that one.

Thus far our "Starfish" have been: Dogs healed from Cancer: Lymphoma & Mast Cell, & Autistic Young Adults

The Underwood Group International has always operated with "Humankind" in mind... and beneath every thought and action that formed this company are thousands of personal search hours that lead to the innate recognition that "no glass ceilings" and "creating in service" would be our foothold from which we operate.
"No Glass Ceilings" means "all possibilities exist" … and "Creating in Service" for us, is not just Ideology ~ It's a God centered knowing that the whole universe is in constant creation and if we can create and serve all life in every simple moment... from taking salad trimmings to the garden for the rabbits, to facilitating seizure medication to an autistic child… we will constantly be in a front line position of breathing life into this world and helping to embolden our planet to remain in a perpetual caring & giving state.
Hence, it was an inevitable to formalize this precept, and in February of 2012, TUGi was placed into the entity of a Humanitarian Foundation;
officially now recognized as
"TUGi Humanitarian Foundation".

So What exactly is Operation Starfish?
Translated... Operation Starfish was created to help one person or situation at a time; taken under consideration on a case by case basis and is solely "need" sensitive.
Unlike most, there are no specific guidelines for qualification as we felt this type of servant offering is missing in the broad array of outreach programs. Most outreach programs have set guidelines one must qualify for and a sliding scale of help depending on where one falls in the guidelines, and is intended for a specific category of need.
All programs help people but oftentimes, its simply not enough to make a difference. We wanted to fill that gap as we have found there are people in need, many who do not even really require a huge contribution, but one given at a critical time to make a long term difference.
Although no type of situation is precluded, this is really the only component emphasized by our program.

In Real Estate world, there are Bridge Loans that help people transact a deal to achieve a viable outcome that would otherwise be unachievable.
We believe a single person or entity can come along and make a difference in one person's life… in other words… "bridge them"... to what would otherwise be unachievable.
Simply put and observationally birthed… We believe in bridging people when we can, and knowing...
